Status Go: Creating The Future

Episode 48: Creating The Future

How do you most effectively embrace the rapid pace of change in the technology industry?  How do you implement the most impactful and efficient programs, hire the right talent, and develop the right systems?  Well, first, you must create the future.  Jared Nichols, The New Futurist, is here to discuss with Jeff Ton, SVP of Product Development and Strategic Alliances exactly how to “be an active participant rather than a passive recipient” of your own future and that of your organization; how to build agency over the outcome.  Jared will tell you exactly what is needed with his “three Cs,” how to get started and how to improve and what is wrong with most organizations’ strategic planning process.

Jared Nichols is a futurist, advisor, and faculty member at the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business, in Graduate and Executive Education. He teaches leaders, teams, and individuals, how to think like futurists so they can create the best future for themselves and the people they serve.

His insight and expertise is utilized across a wide variety of sectors and industries from Fortune 500 companies to government municipalities, entrepreneurial start-ups, as well as his work in Hollywood with accomplished actors, writers, and producers, helping them reinvent themselves and discover new areas for growth both inside and outside the bounds of their industry.

Jared is also musician, composer, competitive cyclist, and trail runner living in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and their two sons.

His most recent accomplishment is becoming an official card carrying member of the Dollar Beard Club and is making plans to build a workshop and tame a wild animal.
