Episode 17: Developing a Comprehensive Disaster Recovery Runbook
Hurricanes. Fires. Blizzards. Cyberattacks. How thorough is your Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy and equally important, how comprehensive is your DR Runbook? While possibly the least favored task among IT departments, a well written and up to date Runbook is crucial to restoring mission-critical IT functions without major losses in revenue or business operations during a failure.
This week our VP of Marketing, Alicia Gaba, sits down with Jeff Ton, SVP Product Development and Strategic Alliances, to walk through the essential components of a well orchestrated Runbook. Jeff entertains us with 1980s DR testing war stories, outlines what to include in a Runbook and lays out key items often forgotten.
Jeff Ton is responsible for driving InterVision’s product strategy and service vision and strategy. Jeff focuses on the evolving IT landscape and the changing needs of our clients and together with the InterVision team, ensures our products and services meet our client’s needs and drives value in their organizations now and in the future.
Jeff has over 30 years of experience in business and information technology, the last 10 years of which he was a CIO for two of Central Indiana’s most respected organizations. At Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana he led the development and implementation of the enterprise-wide information technology portfolio, including applications, infrastructure, security and telecommunications across the Goodwill business units. Prior to Goodwill, he was the CIO for Lauth Property Group. Earlier in his career, Ton spent 14 years in various technology roles with Thomson Multimedia (Technicolor).
