Episode 72: Diversity in Tech
The wake of George Floyd’s murder has accelerated a civil rights movement some are calling the largest in history; it is creating awareness, uncovering unconscious bias and highlighting ways we can do better. The mission of Status Go has always been to create opportunity out of challenge and to break from the status quo; we are applying that mindset in order to be a part of creating real, sustainable change by listening, learning and taking action. In this episode, Lamont Hatcher, CEO at AIS, and Wayne Patrick, CRO at AIS sit down for real talk with Jeff Ton about the lack of diversity in the tech industry today. This episode is a mix of vulnerability and practicality around Lamont and Wayne’s own experiences, ways to attract a more diverse talent pool, and bias in creating applications.
Lamont Hatcher, CEO at AIS, is an experienced entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. Lamont serves on the Board of Directors for Morning Light as well as Martindale-Brightwood CDC.
