In part 2 of our Compelling Communication Series, Anita Nielsen, Sales Enablement Consultant, Author and President of LDK Advisory Services, returns for a discussion with Jeff Ton, Strategic IT Advisor, Mike Loggins , Global Vice President of IT at SMC, and Hannah Morrison, the Internal Communications Manager of Global IT at SMC.  When Mike took over Global IT, he knew in order to create his vision, which was to go beyond creating an IT team the organization was forced to use, but to create the IT  team whose level of awesome the organization was  delighted by, he would need expertise outside of the technical realm.  In fact, Mike likened bringing communications expertise onto the team to bringing in experts in data center technologies or application development design, he says, “It’s all part of what we bring to the table as global IT.”  Cue Hannah Morrison, who has taken internal IT communications to a whole new level in just 2 months.  Hear how Mike got buy in from the rest of the executive team to move forward, where Hannah got started and the bigger picture they are both moving towards.

Mike Loggins

Mike is the Vice President of Global IT at SMC. He is responsible for planning the information technology future for the organization, as well as the implementation and maintenance of current systems. Mike works to create a culture of innovation and stability in the company’s cyber-physical systems and networks. He is known for his community oriented and proactive approach to both IT and leadership and has set the standard for “awesome” at SMC.

Under his leadership, SMC has moved IT standardizations to a global scale, as Mike pushes his teams to model the values of inclusion, growth, support, and diversity. He is a leader in creating diversified and innovative global IT teams and has spent years cultivating a deep understanding of existing and emerging technologies.

Hannah Harper Morrison

Hannah is the Internal Communications Manager for Global IT at SMC Corporation of America. As an experienced community engagement and communications professional, Hannah leads the communications strategy and content development for Global IT. After graduating with her degree in Public Relations, Hannah worked in the Indiana House of Representatives before working in community and economic development at the City of Indianapolis in the Mayor’s Office. Her passion for quality storytelling and compelling narratives led her to pursuing a career in which she can engage, align, and inspire teams.
